Focus – Yoga

If i had to put a word to yoga is enjoyment.

Slow down the pace, bring more awareness to what you re experiencing: movements, thoughts, emotions, feelings

It means not to focus your attention on the outcome of actions, on a particular goal, but instead enjoying the process.

The goal has become more important than the task itself and this is the main concern of all the frustration we are experiencing.

Work hours and food it seems to steal from us most of the time of the day.

But how can you enjoy a life if you are not paying attention to it? It s like we’re always trying to find happiness in the goal.

But what we seem to forget or not pay attention to is, that reaching a goal may take days, weeks, years of frustration and work that we are not enjoying, and sadly the moment of satisfaction drawn out of it, lasts from fractions of seconds to minutes, hours
.
So life as we know it it s reduced to this moments, this short periods of satisfaction.

It is so easy to get lost, in your mind, in your ego and mind is getting better and better to distract your attention, keeping you occupied so ultimately you become the slave of your impulses, senses.

In our path to learn more, we where given some assignments. They made me feel frustrated at first, the i stated to dislike them, but that was before i got started, and i found something i forgot: FOCUS.

My mind has stooped from multitasking to mono-tasking. And after i found joy in it, and in its learning. And i understood my frustration i was looking at the goal, hating and forgetting about the process.

And i was thinking about asanas, how sometimes you cannot wait to get out of a posture, but not enjoying the technique that put you there and what you are experiencing in it.

When you start being a student, everyone becomes your teacher. And i found my teacher one day, eating in solitude. I had to ask, what is he doing?!

“I m having a romantic diner with my diner. ๐Ÿ™‚ Paying attention how many times i chew, what taste i encounter, paying attention to my food. Food it s like a guest that you invited in your home (body) but then you start watching tv ignoring the guest. How can you benefit from such a visit, how many things you are ignoring?!”

Let s enjoy more what we are doing, working and not the goal or outcome of it, this may be one of the key to happiness.
