Yoga – Riscurile practicarii – fara tehnica

intr-o nota personala recunosc ca nu-mi plac titlurile dramatice, poate pentru ca o vad ca si o atitudine de a atrage incontrolabil, subiectiv si nu foarte elevat atentia.. Riscul este asumarea acelor ferestre (procent) din posibilitati care ar produce un rezultat inafara celor urmarite sau cunoscute.

scurta introducere

cand ceva devine mai popular decat cunoscut creste tendinta de a pleca urechile la toate opinile acestor influencers decat de a cauta adevarul. Yoga a trecut prin multe valuri de popularitate incat si cartile traditionale te indruma sa nu crezi nimic pana nu confirmi rezultatul prin propria ta experienta.

Yoga

yoga este o practica personala – prea multe sesiuni de yoga la toti teacherii si toate cluburile e asemenea pelegrinajelor in prea multe biserici. S-ar putea deseori sa nu te ajute mai cu nimic, dimpotriva sa-ti impietreasca mintea ca si un scut in jului egoului. Pentru ca sa nu cada in maini / minti gresite persoanele dedicate unei vieti spirituale isi alegeau cu strictete ai ucenici care sa nu le altereze, deterioreze mesajul, tehnicile, efectele; iar daca nu-i gaseau pe acei ucenici, preferau sa nu impartaseasca nimic.

Riscurile practicarii

nimic nu este simplu, nimic nu este complicat, este doar complex, interpenetrand holistic. La putin ani dupa ce au ajuns asanele in U.S. chiar daca perceptia intiala a fost de fitness grupuri din ce in ce mai bulversate de practicanti au inceput sa viziteze India pentru raspunsuri. Unii chiar revoltati de schimbari au inceput sa-si certe chiar “sursele” pentru lipsa de informare si responsabilitate.

Fara tehnica

la inceput a existat suficienta atentie si curiozitate incat sa nu existe deviatii semnificative, astfel ca toate propunerile care circulau in numele de yoga isi pastrau rezultatele, efectele. Toate tehnicile nu erau doar respectate ci era un continuu proces de extractie, de redescoperire, de reconstruire a acestora. O munca continua de studiere a textelor sanscrite, de interpolare a informatilor, de experimentare si confirmare a acestora.

Yoga – riscurile practicarii

nu o sa-ti pierzi sufletul practicand yoga, nici nu o sa ajungi in Iad, precum nici nu o sa discut despre aceste aspecte in ceea ce urmeaza, cat voi incerca sa metionez ceva semnificativ din anumite capitole din yoga si unele posibile riscuri acolo. Voi lua initial unele trepte descrie de Pantajali in sistemul propus – ahtanga yog – iar apoi poate voi atinge usor si alte drumuri in Yoga.

Yama si Niyama

desi aceste control-observabile aspecte din yoga in momentul implinirii unora dintre ele se amintesc mai mult beneficile – ca un semn al confirmarii, prezentei – ne este amintit ca uneori viata profesionala poate fi impotriva implinirii acestora. Respectiv, implinirea lor ar putea afecta locul de munca. Sa ne amintitm de “lunga” discutie pe care a avut-o Krishna cu Arjuna pe campu de lupta si nu doar de job-uri contemporane in care e greu sa te manifesti complet non-violent, mereu pe drumul adevarului, cu o atudine ne-agonisitoare, ne-pofticioasa, mereu implinita… etc. Intr-un final se poate instala o distonanta cognitiva, asa ca este ori job-ul ori yama si niyama, ori recuperarea drepturilor regale ori pierderea luptei (si misiunii spiriutale).

Asana

fara aplicarea cel putin partiala a conceptelor din yama si niyama, Asana e asematore cu aruncatul semintelor (practicii) pe pamant in anotimpuri neprielnice.

Am avur chiar o intrebare recenta, una din motivatile acestui articol:

In ce masura practicarea incorecta a asanelor poate crea mai mult rau decat bine?
asana:

Incep prin a aminti ca asana inseamna postura meditativa. Desi multi prefera reducerea traducerii la poastura sau asezatura, alte sinonime alte cuvantului reconfirma conceptul lui Patanjali in care asana este o postura confortabila si stabila, usor de mentinut. Minimalizarea cuvantului la termenul de postura ma inspira insa sa va fac urmatoarea paranteza: daca noi ne-am intalni acum 5000 de ani pe strada si eu as avea un caine si m-ai intreba ce e asta si eu ti-as zice yorkshire terrier,  avand in vedere ca tu n-ai vazut vreun caine pana acum.. ce sens ar avea sa-ti descriu tipurile de terrieri? Pentru inceput daca intelegi ca e caine poate fi de ajuns 🙂 In B.G. VI se vorbeste in special despre meditatie iar cand este amintita postura cuvintele folosite sunt legate de pastrarea coloanei vertebrale perpenticulara cu solul.

In textele traditionale asanale sunt impartite in 60% meditative sau pro-meditative (care ajuta la exprimarea posturilor meditative) 20% relaxare, 10% echilibru si 10% altele.

incorect:

asana nu reprezinta o postura finala ci drumul spre acea postura este la fel sau mai semnificativ. Aspecte al practicarii incorecte a asanelor este legat de alinierea posturala in cele 3 planuri impreuna cu neintelegerea distributiei de greutate, amestecate cu lipsa cunostintelor bio-mecanice gen libertate de expresite articularacompresia oaselor etc. pot duce intradevar la accidente serioase. Deseori in yoga amintim ca intr-o postura, atat corpul cat si mintea si respiratia trebuie sa fie prezente in acelas punct, altfel dam nastere unor factori de stress nociv, experimentand dureri, etc. As mai aminti si de alte aspecte asupra modelelor in care lucreaza sistemul muscular, nervos, conjuctiv, endocrin, etc. dar nu sa deschid toate cutiile Pandorei. Ideea e ca spatiu de a gresi, de a practica ceva incorect este – iar cartile desi pot ajuta nu cuprind toate detalile, situatie pentru care se recomanda invatarea prin impartasirea experientei (clase / cursuri de yoga); pentru a avea toate simturile prezente in momentul exprimarii unei posturi, nu doar vazul.

daca prin incorect am colecta mai mult elementele precizate mai sus atunci am vorbi cu o extensie mai larga spre accidente, dar.. “sa precizam putin mai clar acest aspect [..]” a continuat sa ma intrebe aceasta doamna, pe care am intrerupt-o cu urmatoarea idee: parcursul spre implinirea unei asana nu reprezinta o practicare incorecta.

Daca intelegi in ce directie trebuie sa pasesti sa te intalnesti cu o asana, tot ceea ce intampla si pana atunci este o exprimare de beneficii. Asana nefiind insasi exprimarea finala a unei posturi, la randul ei si ea se poate trasforma intr-o Mudra.

continui prin iterarea intrebarii re-proposa de aceiasi doamna:

daca nu stiu cum e pozitia corecta si eu fac o asana [..] dar nu stiu niciodata [..] dar in fiecare zi faci de multe ori [..] intr-un fel progresezi ca ceva devine mai elastic [..] dar daca nu este orientata spre acea postura [..] e oarecum o practica inutila [..] care-i rostul?

posti sa faci un lucru 20 de ani si sa nu se intample nimic..

Asana vrea sa-ti readuca libertatea expresiei de miscare cu care te-ai nascut. Exagererea prin practicarea repetata intr-o directie gresita poate sa-ti creeze libertati unde nu este nevoie, in locuri in care constrangerile iti protejeaza corpul.

Insa ceva ce face cu adevarat diferenta este in atitudinea cu care facem aceste posturi.

Inceputurile mele in yoga au pornit ca participant la clase de pilates iar apoi la clase de yoga fara sa inteleg clar o diferenta intre ele, decat sa recunosc ca yoga era sursa sau o sursa de inspiratie pentru pilates. Intr-un final, dedicatia mea m-a facut sa caut pe internet tot felul de filmulete sa ma plictisesc uneori la ore, sa cer mai mult.. si intr-un final sa ajung la un workshop pe yoga, apoi au fost trainingurile in India… insa tot ce am dorit a fost sa fiu o resursa in yoga, sa cunosc atat de adanc incat sa pot sa impartasesc (celora care s-ar fi regasit la fel de infometati ca si mine).

Svadhyaya – Self-Study – aceasta este atitudinea cu care se intra in Yoga, cu care se practica totul, inclusiv asanele (face parte din Niyama).

Exista intradevar cursuri si training-uri insa esenta este sa te transformi in profesor pentru tine insuti cu ajutorul observatiei. Sunt posturi pe care le-as putea gasi in 100 de resurse (carti, site-uri, etc) spre exemplu: cobra – si experienta mea, tehnica sau detalile pe care le-am inteles sa nu se gaseasca in nici 10%. Asta un inseamna ca postura nu este cunoscuta si de altii ci mai mult ca resursele mai mult sau mai putin constient nu vor oferi decat o mica orientare pe drumul pe care o postura il propune. Altfel ne-am regasi la fel ca si Iyengar sa scriem cate vreo carte pentru fiecare.

Deci cu o intentie corespunzatoare inclusiv inceputuri gresite pot duce pe dumuri pline de lumina. Pe de alta parte, la fel de dezastruoasa este repetarea unei greseli.

Iar apoi mai este si ideea de mai jos la care nu merita sa mai comentez:

Pranayama

aici e mai simplu de povestit, riscurile sunt atat de mari incat toate cartile traditionale in momentul cand iti descriu tehnicile sublineaza necesitatea de a invata aceste tehnici de la un guru sau, zic eu – avand in vedere complexitatea termenului, ca sensul aceste mentiuni face trimitere catre o persoana practicant devotata a acestor tehnici. In respect cu aceste informatii, cele mai multe emotii le-am avut cand am sustinut un workshop exclusiv pe praayama – nu doream sa ajunga slide-urile cu informatii mai departe de cei prezenti, desi imi place sa impartasesc, aici imitarea, incercarea unora din ele le consider suficient de periculoase.

Din experienta personala am inteles ce inseamna sa asculti respiratile, tehnicile celorlalti, sa empatizezi si sa intelegi unde si ce se intampla cu corpul lor, unde se plimba si cum ajunge sa se manifeste respiratia si prana.

Pranayama insa necesita pe langa Yama si Niyama pastrarea unei Asana corespunzatoare (meditative – coloana vertebrata perpenticulara cu solul), cu o extensie a sustinerii acesteia pentru o unitate maximala de 3 ore. Respetiv prima contraindicatie este practicarea tehnicilor peste o durata de 3 ore consecutive, iar avand in vedere ca recomandarea momentelor de practica este dimineata, miaza-zi, amurg si miaza-noapte.. presupun ca si indicatia e de pauza intre practici de minim 3 ore.

Cand corpul nu are consolidata Asana pentru a exprima riscurile practicarii ne sunt oferite urmatoarele metafore. Corpul poate fi in 3 forme posibile:

  • desert – iar cand vantul pranic merge deasupra acestuia ridica tot nisipul in aer, schimband nu doar forma (corpului) cat si intoxicand vantul (energia)
  • munte – cand ai o pozitie consolidata in asana si nici un factor extern nu te poate deranja (pratyahara)
  • ocean – cand prana curge asemenea raurilor intr-un ocean, linistit, modeland fiecare sursa – respectiv cand poti linisti respiratia celorlanti, momentul in care reda si invata din experientele tale in pranayama

O dimensiune a extensiei pranice se manifesta ca o atmosfera in jurul nostru. Daca atmosfera Pamantului cand curentii de aer se misca regulat, uniform, da nastere la aceasa explozie de viata si anotimpuri.. la fel dezechilibere se pot dezlanui in catastrofe, uragane, tornade etc. O practica incorecta de pranayama poate introduce aceste efecte.

Pratyahara

doar cateva mentiuni.. pratyahara inseamna controlul simturilor si nu este un sinonim cu brahmacharya desi au aspecte interpenetrante. Sunt tot felul de persoane care incearca sa-si anihileze unul sau mai multe din aceste simturi in speranta ca odata redus din frontul senzorial capitolul, treapta e mai usor de trecut.

Unul din cele mai importante organe de simti de controlat este ochiul. El introduce cele mai multe iluzii in corp si deseori se fac mentiuni ca nu e suficient sa fi vazut ceva pentru a accepta ca s-a intamplat, sau ca este real.

Kriya

chiar daca kriya vorbeste despre purificare corpului nerespectarea indicatilor din aceasta categorie de tehnici poate fi nesanatoasa. Imaginati-va sa introduce-ti in nas apa nefiarta, nepurificata care odata blocata la nivelul sinusurilor poate trezi infectii.

Mantra

mai putin cunoscut este faptul efectul mantrelor vedice depide de o intonare corecta a acestora, altfel ele pot duce chiar la imbolnaviri / dezechilibre energetice. In respect cu aceste mantre vedice, sunt scoli care au incetat in a mai le mai preda in TTC (cursuri). Spre exemplu exista si o conceptie impartasita ca Gayatri un trebuie intonata de sexul feminin.

alte drumuri Yoga inafara de Raja Yoga / Hatha Yoga, respectiv Jnana, Karma, Bhakti isi au de asemenea tehnicile si riscurile lor insa nu o sa ma mai extind aici, acum despre ele.


Fara Tehnica

am primit insa un comentariu dragut la urmatorul video si am sa scriu totusi cateva cuvinte despre tehnica:

am sa despart din comentul care m-a inspirat: “yoga is enlightenment. new energy has evolved. we are allowed to change with it and hence bring yoga to our hearts with greater ease. as long as we stay passionate about consciousness/enlightenment there is no india and there is no america. there is pure joy and allowing it to happen through movement. this is what i feel in my heart.”

atat combinatia “new energy” cat si “energy has evolved” sunt de fapt niste antonime plonasmatice.. nici in spiritualitate (Prana, Qi sau Duhul Sfant) n-au fost vazut vreodata muabile dapoi noi.. precum si in alte stiinte cand vorbim de energie ceea ce se schimba este sursa si in functie de asta putem avea unitati diferite de masurare, in plus mai amintim un principiu cel de conservare a energiei.

oare ne referim la faptul ca mai avem 63 de ani si iesim din dwapara yuga? Respectiv o sa ne intalnim cu o exprimare mai inalta a tuturor organizemlor vii.

as intelege ca directia era defensiva fata de yoga flow.. un tip de constructie a claseler mai “vestica” (amintint ca ashtanga a fost indirect tot pentru “vestic” conceputa) care sper ca unul din obiectivele sincere este, prin complexitatea miscarilor care o propune, adunarea atentiei in corp – reducerea acestor monkey jumps. Well.. chiar daca si personal sustin clase cu o propunere asemanatoare, ele nu reprezinta o forma mai intalta, mai avansata, mai evoluata de yoga – nici macar noua. Nu reprezinta o metoda de a calma mintea ci de a o pacali pentru o durata de timp, la fel de usor si chiar mai eficient am putea sa instalam clopotei / clopote sau sa le cerem sa vina cu ele la ore si sa le penduleze 60 de minute.

avem de vreo 150 de ani aceasta metoda si nu avem nici un contemporan mai luminat care sa sustina ca e o metodata de “citta vritti nirodha”. Nu zic sa o indepartam ci doar sa ne indreptam atentia si spre alte capitole sau tehnici care ne lipsesc.

in videoclip apare la un moment dat:

“Technique do the benefits. Wrong technique [..] wrong benefits. No benefits”

ca e vorba de yoga, inot, arte martiale sau chiar aerobic – clasele nu se numesc show-off, work out ci cursuri, teaching. Instructorul impartasing in cele 3 forme de comunicare: informationala, motivationala si coaching. Pana si clasele care sunt mai fara tehnica intra in categoria de tehnica numita “free style” unde exista libertatea de a alterna intre posturi, pasi sau stiluri atent construite. Iar unde nu este tehnica, nu este teaching, nu este drum, discutabil daca exista vreun un self-discovery si atunci de unde benefits?

Riscul pe care il regasesc in prea mult dinamism este lipsa cunoasterii bazelor, asane si alte tehnici ne-executate corect, unde repetitia acestora poate duce in mai grave directii. Nici in aerobic nu se trece la un alt pas pana cel initial nu a fost invatat de 80% din participanti, nu se trece nici macar la variatia lui. Sa nu mai vorbim de respiratii si de activarea exclusiva simpatica a sistemului nervos autonom.

Yoga este o tehnica de a experimenta organismul uman la cel mai inalt potential.

Stress – the two sides of the same coin

even i said this so many times, here again, about the stress..

There are two types of stress: the Conscious and the Unconscious, the Healthy or the Unhealthy way of experiencing the stress.

I was few days ago in a mystical presence (he likes to says).. on the word stress there was a bit of avoiding in my perspective and because i repeat myself often with these words.. maybe now is a good moment to have them written..

In few words, stress can be beneficial if we want to.. or stress is beneficial as long as we can control the duration, the intensity and other attributes of it.

Jjoggingust today we re-emphasized that our bones needs some amount of stress in order to stimulate growth and density. So if you set yourself for a walk, a conscious run, jogging.. the stress on the circulatory system, breathing, ambulatory (mussels and bones), digestive and hormonal.. all will get some benefits or gain a level of balance.

But a bit more of this run, walk.. can easily transform into a toxic or traumatic experience of stress.  Some times, hearing the ones we love.. is joyful.. other times consuming.

As in yoga we talk about a sutra saying that “each pleasure culminates in pain”.

When you are doing asana or any yogic technique it is required that you are present into your body, conscious, focused. Being there with a correct attitude is yoga and will bring you the benefits.. but practicing any yogic technique.. with the mind “gone to shopping” is dangerous.

Like sometimes your doing one asana and instead of observing more into yourself, you dream away – waiting maybe for the teacher to ask for a new posture – as soon as you get back to your body, you feel there is some pain, some discomfort and as more as you acknowledge its presence you want to get from the posture. Because asana might give you the opportunity to know and quiet your body.. but instead of listening to it and learn how to make it peaceful you run (with your mind outside).. then when you get back you wonder “where from the crazy mob came?” – that’s the unhealthy stress.

You are the one experiencing this… You are the one able to control this.

There is a switch at your reach to transform every experience into a joyful one.. or you can stop it. For both there is Yoga, as the mean or the path to process emotions and pain, to mukti, to liberation.

Stress is always there for you, in you.. the first step to control it, to transform it.. is to be conscious about it, to realize that it is.. and then act upon it.

 

Let’s take the moment of your birth, the moment you get out.. you will experience gravity (asana), then breath (pranayama).. then many sensory excitements (pratyahara), emotions, thoughts (dharana, dhyana).. some forces were always there with you.. understand and ride them.. fighting them is exhausting and is not efficient living.. ignoring them is postponing and enduring.

Yoga is just this…

You wake up in the morning realizing that you haven’t been doing any cardio in the last weeks. So you plan to participate in an indoor cycling to manage your breath and your limits in your heartbeats.

You hydrate . Keep an empty stomach so your energy stays intact. Prepare all the equipment and warm clothes for the winter that’s outside. By the time you get to the bus station yourealize you’ll probably be late 5 min, miss one bus and then realize that is also Sunday and the next bust is in another 10 min.

Waiting for 10 min, no sign and then you look at the clock and the class already started 🙂 So getting there, you ll already miss half of the class.

Without any remorse or swearing, you just enjoy a cold air winter, analyzing how your body feels and it is so amazing. You fell how your body is benefiting from all the yoga during last week and you decide you ll return back home start cooking something and next time you ll be more prepared.

No hard feelings, just a beautiful walk.

Are you able to enjoy life, even if it doesn’t work your way?

Can you turn one “Bad” situation into another one which is great?

Can you just be present, instead of imagining a future where you ll probably be happy?

Can you focus your mind for a few minutes being here, rather than get lost into your imagination?

We seldom create more turmoil within ourselves by our thought process than the exterior factors.

This just brings in my head some lines in my Guru talking about Alexander the Great.

“For Alexander the Great, conquering half of the world, life did not settle. Yes? Alexander, I don’t know why they call him “Great”. Probably they forgot his third name! Alexander the Great Idiot; they forgot that.

Why am I saying this is, what did Alexander do in his life?

At the age of sixteen he started fighting and went about killing people, unknown people, people who did not know who he was.

What was his purpose in life? He went on slaughtered thousands and thousands of people. Sixteen years of non-stop fighting he did. At the age of 32 he died a miserable death. He was so miserable because the other half of the world was yet not conquered.

Let’s say this microphone is your property. Between you and me some dispute has arisen about this property. If we quarrel for five minutes, if you have little sense, you will feel “Let this property go. Let me be free from this nonsense first.” If you have some sense!

For sixteen years if a man has to go on fighting non-stop for something that is not even his, he must be absolutely insane; but this is the kind of people that you have made “Great”

What is his contribution to human life?

Now all your focus is in this way because he had the mad ambition of conquering the whole world, so everybody is an Alexander the Great, but not potent enough. They don’t have the same level of potency. They are impotent Alexanders; but everybody is an Alexander, wanting to conquer something all the time.

As long as this is your consciousness, as long this is the basis of the action you perform in the world, the world cannot be beautiful.

If Alexanders exist here, if your only intention is to conquer everybody in some way, conflict will be the way. This world will always be in conflict. Pain and suffering will be the way of the world.”

The first and most fundamental responsibility for a human being is to become a joyous human being; because no matter what are you doing, it doesn’t matter what are you pursuing in your life, whatever is business, money, power, education, service or whatever else you wish to do, you are doing it because something inside you know that this will bring you happiness.    

Purification

On a hot day, while mounting, a hill in order to visit a certain basilica, I was questioning myself why do they always chose such a high place to put churches, monasteries etc?

The first thought that come into my mind was purification.

Of course!

God whose love and joy
are present everywhere,
Can’t come and visit you
unless you aren’t there.

Walking 2000 m up the hill, requires a certain intention, strength determination, will. By the moment you reach there, your body may be sweating, you hardly catch your breath, your mind is at ease for dealing with these intense “Practice”.

” Now you are prepared to meet God.”

And for your surprise, God is not hiding in the church. God was all the time inside of you, you were just not capable of feeling, hearing him, experience an infinity part of his presence.
Just sitting on a bench, on the grass, taking a big inhale, appreciating some rest, you see beauty everywhere, in silence, in a sandwich, in a cup of water.

Happy to have reach your target, no matter how many times you wanted to stop, with some effort and discipline, and a certain purification of body and mind, the mind gets empty, you don’t think about work, about your fight with your parents or friends, about the rent, car or school.

Just a breath of fresh air and some freedom to replace all that was occupying your mind. Some time for you and God, the pleasure of a silent mind, overwhelmed by the sensations in the body, the “rest” you where longing for so long.

“God…can’t come and visit you, unless you aren’t there” It is not about your home, it is about the temple “My body is a temple”, it s about your mind.

How can anything come in, while you are so full of your own ideas, your mind is so busy thinking and in a constant meditation keeping intact your  precious identity?

1Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your bodies. Corinthians 6:19-20

So that silence and love and peace, you are experience every time you are doing an effort, that discipline, touching the limitations of the body, practicing yoga, you are more in touch with the holy spirit, the spirit, god, the universe, call it whatever you want, it is the experience that maters not the name.

This is the reason for a pilgrimage, for different rituals before “meeting god”, walking for 1000 km with an intention.

Wherever you find yourself on the earth there are different approaches to this.

Muslim, Buddhist, catholic, orthodox, any kind of religion or beliefs they all talk about a purification before conception, love, eating, walking, meeting god, any activity.

Now yogis discover this just some thousands of years before, experiencing the Holy Spirit on daily basis rather than to put everything on FAITH.

They don t need to travel for thousands of km, they just sit on a mat, on a stone, either in meditation, or preparing the body trough asanas or other forms of practice, for the next step in their evolution.

***Jesus captured trying to explain how to hold the finger when you practice “anulom vilom”, pranayama. He just chose index finger-pointing finger on the forehead 🙂 something to do with third eye :)), probably he was a monk or a yogi, his clothes and what he preaches sounds like Asia***—-just a possibility…

There are rituals before everything.

Probably this is one of the reasons we are the way we are today, we have forgotten how to respect the “spirit” in everything.

Japenese : Shinto tradition of purifying the body and mind before meeting others.

“Purify yourself before meeting others.” You don t want to bring your dirt, your clouded mind, you negative emotions into someone else’s life. This is seen as a duty, not as an optional task.

So the first thing before you eat, before you do anything, do yoga, pray, or any form of practice or ritual, that reminds you of your place in this world and respect your body, because it s trough the body that you experience this life.

If it s pain you experience lifting your body from the ground, no matter how many beautiful words you put, it will not feel better, so probably you slept to much,or your muscles are atrophying and you are in lack of physical activity – trough the prism of the body we experience life.

Your life is not about being a banker, or a husband, or a boyfriend or anything else. But being a spirit in touch with God, which is fundamental before you engage yourself in any other activity.

‘The world is a bridge, pass over it, but build no houses upon it. He who hopes for a day, may hope for eternity; but the world endures but an hour. Spend it in prayer for the rest is unseen.’

Nobility is not being better than someone else, is being better than your former self, and this is how you should spend your life, in being noble.

How to extend your life? with some *secrets* …

So what is Life?

the most dominant answer defines life as the length (of time) between the 1st breath and the last breath. Because of a strong correlation between  the number of heart-beats and the number of time units (years) in a life there are some who initially said that each individual (race) has a specific number of heart-beats given. Then because of the strong correlation between the heart-beats and number of breaths, they concluded that actually each race, specie of a living entity has its life counted in number of breaths (either its a plant, animal or human).what-is-life-660  To extend this basic definition of life i’m adding also the stock, the number of stem cells one individual has.

Then.. how to extend Life?

by simply reducing the number of breaths and what is consuming our body, our cells (that eventually then need to be replaced).

How?

Well here is were Yoga has some interesting answers confirmed by its devoted practitioners which in average they can easily reach 150 years old (e.g. hatha yoga).

Never the less, before we venture in some of the yogic topics, there are also some external things that depend to nourishment of the body which one can approach – doesn’t mean that some of them are not included in yoga, but they known universally to have this effect from different cultures. I’m not going to name all of them, but few enough to deliver you the concept behind the scenes.

Everything that stresses less the ce2art1_MPreviewlls, give them proper space to receive nourishment, eliminate residual products and sustain a healthy membrane – reflects in a prolonged life of the cell and with it the entire body. Let’s take these 3 elements:

so the most longevity persons we know, as a majority, they live at the harsh conditions, the Eskimos have their diet purely based on fats, then the Gingko Biloba is native to China.. but the ones who not only are alive but seem like they are still living the life with a great body force and stamina are the yogis (in majority native to India).

How can Yoga extend your Life?

There is a deep understanding of this nourishment and elimination in yoga. The concept of having these processes very efficient is the aim. We are looking also very closely to the energy that is linked to them, known as Prana and Apana. We dive into what the correct space (shuka) means for these forces, for these energies of life to freely communicate.

On the body level we reduce all impediments with the help of Asanas & Kriyas, removing all blockages is again the aim, then we sustain the purification. With Pranayama we arrive in controlling this Life Energy, then we expand our vessels, our bodies to sustain more. While the Yamas and Niyamas we start observing ourselves in the medium (social) and private, then with the help of Pratyahara we gain control in our senses we continuously reduce all exterior and interior stress factors.

This is why simply and grossly Yoga with no dependency to any drug or exterior factor has as one of its fruits an *extended* life (expectancy).

This effect of yoga is popular enough between its practitioners, that the question is not how to extend ones life but how to live it!

Why receptivity?! Why yoga is hard, when it should be soft?!

It seems wherever I get I hear more about this: Just be receptive. Empty yourself in order to become more. You’re so full of yourself and your own ideas that nothing new can come in.

In order to become everything, you have to become nothing first.

This is yoga to me, more receptivity, more awareness.

But why? Why is it so important? Why everybody talks about this?

While having a speech, Sadhguru observed someone  was trying to write every single word he was uttering. His reaction was “You don’t need to write these things down. Just be with me, here ,now. Be with me and you will learn everything.”

Swami Vivekananda it is said to get his name because of his receptivity. He could hold a book in between his palms and know everything about it.

A Tibetan monk with whom I was spending time with, was just sitting next to me and talking about the thoughts I was having in my mind. He was “reading me”.

Some people read your past. Just by connecting to you. They know things only you know.

You pay them, and think they are supernatural powers. You are afraid of them, because you don’t understand how it works.

Is this a power? Is this mysticism, magic?

We call magic and spirituality everything we don’t understand.

You also hold this powers in you. You just have to develop them. Did it ever happen to you that you were sitting next to a person and just start singing a song and the person next to you said “Omg I was just having the same song the whole day in my head”

Did it ever happened to you that you start talking about something and the person next to you said “Wow this is what I needed to hear, I didn’t talk with no one about it, but you just start speaking about the subject that was going into my head.”

After a Saturday class I was just sitting and talking with a person and she was telling me “People sometimes talk about a pain in their hand, but they don’t know that pain can come from their foot. People heal the symptoms but rarely the sources.”

I was overwhelmed everything I used to speak about she was just using the same kind of language and references. I just started smiling and ask her “Where did you read these things?”

“I don’t know, I don’t remember, from everywhere, no place in specific.”

It just hit me. I remembered Sadhguru talking with someone about world economics. He never read a book on it or knew the terminology of words in this field, but he was talking like a god of economics.

The person next to him was astonished “How do you know this? This is my life study, how can you have access to this kind of information?! Without reading 1 book”

“I m just picking this things out of you! :)) I don’t have the time to read this nonsense.”

This was exactly the case “Just be with me. No writing down, and you ll know everything.”

Just be receptive and open minded and everything will come. All the information is there, you are just an antenna picking things out form this place called Oneness, Consciousness where all information sits.

Just sitting next to someone and being receptive. You learn more than words can bring to you.

But why this is not always happening? How come is just by accident sometimes?

It is said that every 90 min at least for 1 your both hemispheres are balanced. You get a break from stress and some peace of mind. And when the mind is quiet and you stop being full of your own ideas, the universe can do its work with you. You have a glimpse of something, an epiphany. “You allow God in.”

In order to get an “update” you should stop all “applications” and restart for the new program to function.

Practicing yoga, you develop this ability and it happens more often, until you can control it and allow it to happen regularly, or live constantly in it.  Yoga is a technology. Is like advanced math.

This plus that plus this = that. You do this and this and this and you get that. Healing the body, prevention of sickness, fitness of the body, these are just scratching the surface of this technology.

It is accidental because you are not yet in control of it. People are influencing you, by their action, by their thoughts and you still think it s you. Just looking at something you get influenced, not only by thought but by emotions.

You can be perfectly in shape. Your mind is still. Emotions pleasant.

Just walking the street. You tap without wanting in everybody’s mind and  chaos :)) And you add this to you, you think it s you, but then, how come your mood change? Why? Where did these new thoughts come from?
You have to understand it s not you. It s their energy. Observe yourself more. Yoga is not a thing, happening in a class, 1 h a day.

That is practice. Yoga is a 24 h lifestyle. You’re constantly observing and regulating. Always aware of the body and mind fluctuation. In charge of your own.

There is a beautiful story about this and some more words to add to it. “Behold, like the clay in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.” ~ Jeremiah 18:6

There was a couple who used to go to England to shop in the beautiful stores. They both liked antiques and pottery and especially teacups. This was their twenty-fifth wedding anniversary. One day in this beautiful shop they saw a beautiful teacup. They said, “May we see that? We’ve never seen one quite so beautiful.”

As the lady handed it to them, suddenly the teacup spoke. “You don’t understand,” it said. “I haven’t always been a teacup. There was a time when I was red and I was clay. My master took me and rolled me and patted me over and over and I yelled out, ‘Let me alone’, but he only smiled, ‘Not yet.'”

“Then I was placed on a spinning wheel,” the teacup said, “and suddenly I was spun around and around and around. ‘Stop it! I’m getting dizzy!’ I screamed. But the master only nodded and said, ‘Not yet.'”

“Then he put me in the oven. I never felt such heat. I wondered why he wanted to burn me, and I yelled and knocked at the door. I could see him through the opening and I could read his lips as he shook his head, ‘Not yet.'” “Finally the door opened, he put me on the shelf, and I began to cool. ‘There, that’s better’, I said. ” Then I knew there wasn’t any hope. I would never make it. I was ready to give up. But the door opened and he took me out and placed me on the shelf. One hour later he handed me a mirror and I couldn’t believe it was me.

‘It’s beautiful. I’m beautiful.'”

“‘I want you to remember, then,’ he said, ‘I know it hurts to be rolled and patted, but if I had left you alone, you would have dried up. I know it made you dizzy to spin around on the wheel, but if I had stopped, you would have crumbled. I knew it hurt and was hot and disagreeable in the oven, but if I hadn’t put you there, you would have cracked. I know the fumes were bad when I brushed and painted you all over, but if I hadn’t done that, you never would have hardened; you would not have had any color in your life. And if I hadn’t put you back in that second oven, you wouldn’t survive for very long because the hardness would not have held. Now you are a finished product. You are what I had in mind when I first began with you.'”

I know yoga is hard sometimes and it takes some discipline and pain.

But I’m not yet done with you.

We are doing this together and yet, you are responsible for everything that comes in your path. Your evolution is in your hand. By raising yourself, you raise others. How you tap into someone else mind for information you also bring them your emotions, and your temper. No matter how happy you are, how discipline, how successful, it will come a time when someone will bring you down with their mood their attitude their behavior.

You are equally responsible for you as for other. Yoga is union. Yoga is inclusiveness.

Everybody has to be good in order for this world to be better. So raise yourself and share your sweetness. Share your wisdom share everything that is good and help others raise themselves.

Raise your energies and be stable so all these passing fluctuation don’t affect you to much.

The universe wants to tap into you, but you have to change your frequency. You need to be receptive to it.  Be Open.  Be Inclusive. Just be.

.. initial am vrut prin articolul propus sa raspund la un altul usor mai agresiv, insa avand in vedere ca exista un accept al termenului de meditatie printre ortodocsi am sa incep de aici..

Ce este rugaciunea?

Ce este meditatia?
aici.. descrierile din dex nu fac dreptate decat unui inteles popular, meditatia dpdv yoga, este un fruct ale unor alte exercitii (precum concentratia) care se descrie prin contopirea cu divinitatea pentru un moment mai scurt sau mai lung..

Este rugaciunea o activitate crestina?
Nu – rugaciunea nu este o practica (originala) care apartine unei anumite religii sau orientari spirituale. Inclusiv in Biblie sunt mentiuni in care alte popoare sau alti indivizi pentru un moment specific sau nu se rugau in alte directii.

Este meditatia o activitate crestina?
Desi cuvantul nu apare in Biblie, dar il gasim in carti mai vechi precum Bhagavad Gita (cap. 6) cu indicatii despre cum trebuie realizata aceasta, este un fruct (spiritual) post-concentrare si functie de prima intentie el poate fi si crestin.

Care este scopul rugaciunii?
In pricipiu asteptarea unui raspuns direct sau prin alte mijloace.

Care este sopul meditatiei?
Intr-o paralela cu rugaciunea as zice ca este aparitia raspunsului prin intuitie sau revelarea acestuia (odata cu accesarea akasha / contopirea divina).

Si atunci sa rezumam: rugaciune vs meditatie?

Intentia este aproximativ aceiasi – conectarea la divinitate (prin comunicare direct sau contopire – yoga).

Rugaciunea este o incercare iar meditatia este rezultatul unui proces.

Cum lumea este satula de incercari si vrea mai multe rezultate, procesele – fiind o sucesiune de pasi, o actiune, nelipsita de raspuns – se *intalneste* mai des cu medtiatia.

A comfortable life

       A comfortable life.

Waking up in a comfortable bed. Comfortable sheets. Comfortable feelings. Driving in a comfortable car. Strong enough to protect me, warm enough so I don t feel cold, fast enough so I can get wherever I want quickly, efficient enough so the fuel it’s not that expensive.

Comfortable work. Comfortable society. Comfortable everything.

But then I want to feel alive. I want an exciting life. I want to feel strong and be disciplined. I want a quiet mind. I want to rule my life.I want change.

But everything is scary. Giving up to the old and throwing yourself into the unknown.

If it where for you to see your whole life that waits ahead, if the future would be all predictable, would you still find it mysterious? Would you still want to keep it, or would you change it?

Where is the beauty in predictable things? 

We were preoccupied for too long to create a safe environment around us. But it seems this environment is putting us to sleep.

Very small steps of evolution or not at all. For when you were born 5 senses were given to you in order to survive, for everything else you had to thrive. You want to play a guitar, or surf, or write poetry, paint, Climb Mountains, run for extended periods of time. No matter which passion or hobby you chose, it came from you getting out from this comfort. Every morning waking up is an effort, getting out of your comfort zone and the difference between mediocre and excellency is a question of how many efforts are you willing to do, how discipline can you get.

You needed a certain effort to achieve everything. A certain discipline and courage. You may think money can buy everything. But they are not buying your discipline. You may be doing a lot of money, but your health and mental state is questionable. Nobody is going to do the abdomens for you, or meditation for you.

It simply does not work like that. You have to do everything for yourself. You may get some help. But the effort is on you. You can be the richest or poorest person on earth, the body doesn’t care, gravity doesn’t care, laws of universe doesn’t care. People with some character will not care, the only ones who will care is those who need something from you, those who see in you a solution, not a human being, a solution.

So after all isn’t a comfortable life that we want?

Yes but with too much comfort gets you lazy, you get in a state from which is hard to make any change. Why would you limit yourself to what you are today. Repeating the same pattern with no awareness will get you bored to death.

Bored enough so you don’t enjoy, but not enough for you to change. Just a pity little life.

Don’t waste all your energy on improving your car, home, bank account because there is no end to it and there is something more in life than that. You will think happiness hides in all these material things. But every time you get something you just want something more.

Improve yourself as a human being.

“So you get your study, you get a family, you raise on this social system, you get a job, you become a CEO, you have millions. Is this the way a human life should be lived like? Is this the pride we take with our life?”

It seems like we are just adding layers upon layers, to protect ourselves. We construct more and more of what we are. Adding more and more impurities and false identities.

We are protecting ourselves from experiencing life, because we don t want to get hurt by it. We don’t want to look like fools, we don’t want our ego to be hurt.

Try making love, while having an astronaut costume on you . In order to enjoy something a certain state of “nakedness” is needed, a certain purification of the body and mind.

Is like we are numb to life, emotions and all the things makes us human.. Too much protection is killing you slowly. We poison ourselves with food, thoughts and actions. You are a dead zombie, experiencing life while losing connection with everything that matters, detaching, not involved into anything.

Swami Muktananda says : ” if you wear shoes everywhere you go the whole earth feels like leather.”

It is not about protection, but rather “getting undress”, losing all these layers you have built around you. Let your humanity experience creation. Taking a cold shower, put yourself to strange situation, be yourself and stop overthinking every single action.

Whenever you’re about of doing something, you have already visualized the outcome of your actions. You cannot see the future. It may be close, but never what you have thought.

Even God has created things step by step, day by day, totally involved in what he was doing, but he took pleasure in them after doing them. Now he can be the only one seeing the future, but even he is always present. He doesn’t say “I will create humans, wait, what is the purpose of this? they will go to hell anyway :))) ”

I don’t think the future is set on stones. I think the future is malleable. This is the right you have and the freedom you were born into. To construct and influence the world in the way you want. So you can also leave a print to this world. Some small contribution. Have good intentions, totally absorbed by what you do, be present in the present 🙂 a more sensitive human being.

And if you think is to hard or to many things to do in order to change, just begin practicing yoga and evolution will happen either you want it or not. The beautiful thing about yoga is that it has patience, he grows slowly on you. When you go to fast she is slowing you down, when is to less it will bring desires for more. But it has patience, waiting for you, for every gift she sends is for whenever you are ready to deal with it.

You can push the body and mind, using different products, but sometimes you are pushing everything to much, for something that the body may not be ready, you are creating a lot of imbalances in the body. Yoga is safe, it waits and it grows.

And whenever you’re prepared and work your way enough, you will get mukti, moksha, liberation, but in between enough glimpses of nirvana to keep you on the track.

De ce sa te trezesti la 5AM?

Acum cativa ani era un val in presa internationala in care se prezentau tot felul de modele care isi recunosteau sau macar atribuiau partial succesul lor unei treziri cat mai devreme dimineata. Majoritatea acestor persoane prezentate erau si unii inca sunt lideri in anumite industrii, iar pentru ca isi incepeau ziua intre orele 4 si 5 dimineata, cititorii au conceput ideea ca poate fac parte dintr-un grup secret, numindu-l intr-un final Clubul 5AM, clubul de aur a celora care se trezesc devreme dimineata si tot felul de alte denumiri..

Pentru ca toata lumea alearga dupa o cheie a succesului, au incercat sa copieze acest model, fiecare dandu-si cu pararea a ce se intampla cu adevarat – ca corpul este mai energic, ca poti planifica ziua, ca e liniste, ca poti face mai multe daca te trezesti mai devreme.. iar cei care nu puteau realiza o astfel de trezire.. nu dadeau vina pe disciplina sau alte idei mai inalte.. ci au inceput sa cocheteze ca e o propaganda capitalista, ca vor sa puna oamenii sa lucreze mai mult, sa-i faca sclavi.. ca nu functioneaza.. si asa mai departe..

Acum in Romania am observat ca s-a importat si aici acest concept si ca se si vinde, 5am club, 5am coaching.. 5am cu X, 5am cu Y.. noah tot felul de personaje isi atribuie masterizarea acestei arte si nu m-ar mira ca unii sa creada ca au si inventat-o 🙂

Oricum.. toate aceste site-uri ce fac ele pe langa in a vinde acest concept.. incearca sa explice.. la un nivel dezamagitor.. de ce e bine sa te trezesti asa de dimineata.. iar daca nu iti explica public in detalii – poate o fac in cursul unor workshop-uri.. sau poate nu.. si marea majoritate (ma refer aici la intregul internet) vorbesc – scriu despre pasi, modele, rutine prin care sa-ti incepi si sustii un astfel de comportament – de a te trezi dimineata la 5AM. Unii vorbesc din experiente personale – iar altii cu copy paste, cel putin asta am gasit eu cand am cautat informatile specifice pe care le stiam, cel putin cele medicale (ce lipseau cu desavarsire).

Bun.

Pai pentru practicantii Yoga (in modelul traditional*) acest lucru cu trezirea de dimineata este pe departe de a fi vreo noutate.. iar o alta diferenta este ca majoritatea stim de ce acest moment al zilei este cel mai bun de fructificat, atat pentru yoga cat si pentru alte discipline.

Nu vreau sa intru in toate detalile, aici, acum.. ci voi incepe pe scurt in a va lasa cateva seminte esentiale, pentru ca ulterior cu putin studiu sa va asumati pe deplin informatile – poate chiar sa mi le completati, sa aduceti si sa descoperiti si altele.

*Iar cand ma refer la Yoga in modelul traditional, vorbesc despre acele persoane care au o practica personala (nu doar urmeaza clase de asana), exerseaza tehnici de pranayama, kriya si cu dedicatie si auto-disciplina continua sa invete / descopere despre ei Insasi..

Unul dintre factorii confirmati medicali este legat de ritmul circadian, respectiv de dansul hormonilor in corp. Unde incepand cu orele 3 se stabilesc nivelele minime de cortisol si in acelas timp nivelele maxime de melatonina, iar aproximativ la orele 5 nivelul acestora aproape se echilibreaza in sange. Dar oare ce inseamna asta?

Alt moment foarte interesant care incepe aproximativ tot la orele 3 (indiferent de pozitia pe Pamant) este exprinarea unui varf al campului magnetic, ajutat si de vanturile solare – care este pozitia oficiala a naturii, a majoritatii creaturilor vii la aceasta ora? – un somn foarte adanc – expertii spunand ca este afecteaza la un nivel critic circulatia. Artistii insa alteceva, ca gasesc momentul electrizant si plin de inspiratie.

Yoga are ca scop si eliberarea totala… avand capitole dedicate in special pentru tot felul de categorii de constrangeri. Spre exemplu acest moment al diminetii este foarte important pentru Pranayama – controlul energiei vitale si Pratyahara – controlul simturilor, acesta confluenta de factori, in atentia practicantilor si confirmata peste mii de ani, este ca o poarta deschisa tuturor transformarilor. Daca Medicina confirma oportunitatea reglarii sistemului hormonal, a ciclurilor de somn, etc. .. Yoga vorbeste despre reglementarea si controlarea intregului sistem nervos, ulterior despre o capacitate nestingerita de focalizare si fructificarea in mod spontan a momentelor de meditatie.

Cuvintele in sine poate nu reusesc sa aduca fiecaruia atata lumina incat sa dizolve suficient ideile mai departe.. asa ca va rog sa va imaginati un moment in care ati putea fi atat de liberi (fara senzatia de foame, fara senzatia de oboseala, fara conceperea vreunei limite, nici macar perceptia corecta a timpului) in care sa fi treaz si prezent in tine (constient de fiecare gand, ele fiind atat de rare incat sa poti discerne inceputul si sfarsitul fiecaruia), emisferele cerebrate sa aiba o activitate echilibrata (astfel incat sa nu simti nici dorinta de a face ceva fizic, nici macar de a schimba postura corpului – nici o debordare de a concepe sau exploata ceva artistic, creativ – toate insa aceste posibilitati sa existe, dar sa le poti alege )… capabil sa controlezi fiecare intentie, fiecare gand, fiecare calcul sau operatie intelectuala… incat unele persoane sa favorizeze acest moment in a-si genera cele mai complexe si vii vise in care pot participa si schimba actiunea cum doresc.. altii sa se situeze intr-un “birou virtual” deruland si jucand toate stragiile posibile unui plan si alengand pasi cei mai scurti, cei mai de success – pre-intampinand si pregatindu-se ulterior pentru variate alte situatii…

Capacitatile de exprimare ale acestui moment fiind aproape nelimitate si totusi dependente, controlate de personalitatea, intentia si dorinta fiecaruia.

Cam asta se intampla in universul persoanelor care se trezesc dis de dimineata, in jurul orelor 5 si poate chiar mai inainte. Nu prin a reduce numarul de ore de somn ci si prin forma in care ne asternem inainte sa dormim – orele de aur, procesele digestive, postura corpului, intentia etc.

Revenind la mentiunea ca Yoga stia de cu mii de ani in urma aceste informatii si toti practicantii recunoscand si experimentand aceast valoros moment.. au ales in continuare ca atunci cand se trezesc, sa includa in rutina lor mereu Yoga… de ce? Raspunsul imi sta pe buze 🙂 .. si poate.. poate.. o sa vi-l spun..

Spre exemeplu in  Londra dar si alte capitale ale lumii se desfasora tot de prin 2013 un eveniment numit  Morning Gloryville..  incepe la 6:30 si se termina la 10:00.. este sa zicem.. o alta forma de a incepe ziua..


 

My yoga matt

Whenever I carry it around 🙂 people are nice and ask me if i m doing any fitness.

Now In my mind thousands of beautiful story begin and want to start speaking about the origins, the implications, the results, the transformation, but I realize their interest sometimes is just to be nice, so I say …. yes is a form of fitness.

How can I tell them that my mat is like an open book, and whenever I am on it, I feel like. I m the pen writing my history, present and future, constantly defining and observing, coming to various conclusions, one more intense than another. Like a dancer on a stage, watched by no-one than himself, performing for himself.

Can I tell them that I cry, laugh, and I got a taste of all my emotions on it, victory and frustration, peace and stress.  

That  this limited space on the mat, is caring me from a melancholic past and a future full of expectation and plans, to the present, and gives me a taste of “what is, rather than, what i want it to be”

“This is enough! just breathing here, feeling my body, colors get brighter, and whatever felt like nothing and boring, before, just gets exciting.”

That my mat is the place where I come every time I get lost in this society. When I have questions, or nothing to do.

When I am just lost, or when i think I’m not. These is the button to press, for a restart. Wherever I was before, or thinking I will go, this is the place where sometimes time stops, where the mind gets quiet or…. quite very loud.

That is the place for me to meditate, or just sit. A place where my mind knows, that once I m in that place everything is fine, once I assume a posture, everything will settle.

A place from where I can get back to loving, and carrying, from which I can be normal again, and sociable, where I gain my trust, and gather my strength.

That is my place, from where I can erase the past and bad choices and start over again.

The place that understands me, the place where there is no judging, the place where I am safe.

The place,  that I have built. Trough discipline and sweat, trough frustration and acceptance, pain and relaxation.

A place where you are never alone, or even if you are, it never feels lonely.

Where I’m meeting million of other people, like me,  being in the same place, doing the same practice and what they’ve found, is the greatest treasure, themselves.

From the top of the mat, same practices, but every time different.

I feel more close to them, than to everything else because, it feels like they were in my skin, and they knew how I feel, and I feel what they felt, and we all are the same.

You are never alone and should never feel lonely.

Today, yesterday or tomorrow there was and always will be someone like you.

You are just like them, you are them, in a different family, society, experiences, time and place.

Whatever you see, is just you exploring a different possibility.

So whoever you see, try not to judge, just wish them luck and an easy heart.

And learn from their stories, mistakes and experiences, with an open mind and heart, and don’t worry they cannot hurt you, and even if they do, you are not either this body or mind, these are just impressions of society and time you are living in.

What you think you are is constantly changing and defining itself.

What you really are cannot be defined, hurt or destroyed. You are infinity taking a shape, in a certain vibration, on a particular dimension, exploring creation.
