Fisherman vs PhD student In business management

There was once a businessman who was sitting by the beach in a small Brazilian village. As he sat, he saw a Brazilian fisherman rowing a small boat towards the shore having caught quite few big fish. The businessman was impressed and asked the fisherman, “How long does it take you to catch so many fish?”

The fisherman replied, “Oh, just a short while.”

“Then why don’t you stay longer at sea and catch even more?” The businessman was astonished.

“This is enough to feed my whole family,” the fisherman said.

The businessman then asked, “So, what do you do for the rest of the day?”

The fisherman replied, “Well, I usually wake up early in the morning, go out to sea and catch a few fish, then go back and play with my kids. In the afternoon, I take a nap with my wife, and evening comes, I join my buddies in the village for a drink — we play guitar, sing and dance throughout the night.”

The businessman offered a suggestion to the fisherman. “I am a PhD in business management. I could help you to become a more successful person. From now on, you should spend more time at sea and try to catch as many fish as possible. When you have saved enough money, you could buy a bigger boat and catch even more fish. Soon you will be able to afford to buy more boats, set up your own company, your own production plant for canned food and distribution network. By then, you will have moved out of this village and to Sao Paulo, where you can set up HQ to manage your other branches.”

The fisherman continues, “And after that?”

The businessman laughs heartily, “After that, you can live like a king in your own house, and when the time is right, you can go public and float your shares in the Stock Exchange, and you will be rich.”

The fisherman asks, “And after that?”

The businessman says, “After that, you can finally retire, you can move to a house by the fishing village, wake up early in the morning, catch a few fish, then return home to play with your kids, have a nice afternoon nap with your wife, and when evening comes, you can join your buddies for a drink, play the guitar, sing and dance throughout the night!”

The fisherman smiled.

The prophet story – Inspired from Paulo Coelho

ImageO Lord, Today is the day of Atonement and  my list of sins against Thee is long:

-I have been weak, for i have forgotten my strength
-i have been compassionate, when i should have been firm
-i have failed to chose , for fear of making the wrong decision
-i have yielded before the time to do so, and i have blasphemed when i should have given thanks.

Still i have also a list of Thy sins against me:

-You made me suffer more than was just, by taking from this world one that i love.
-You have confounded my search, Thy harshness almost made me forget the love i have for Thee.
-You have destroyed the city that received me.

If we compare the lists you shall see that you are in my debt. But since today is the Day of Atonement, give me forgiveness and shall forgive You.

At that moment a wind blew and an angel appeared. “You have done well. God had accepted the request.”

Tears where falling from the prophet. He knelt and kissed the valley and the soil.

“Thank you for having come, for i still have one doubt : is it not a sin to do this?”

The angel said: “If a warrior fight with his instructor, does he offend him?”

“No. It is the only way to teach the technique that he must learn.”

“Then continue.” The angel replied.

A man has not to accept his fate, he has to chose it.

God it s like a father he sees his children how they take their own decisions, and responsibility for their path. They should be able to manage on their own, there is no greater pride than to see that.

Each person should take into their hands the responsibility of their own life.

We have the greatest gift: to chose for ourselves. Don t let others chose for you.

Cowards, all they want is for the changed situation to go back to what it use to be, so they can go on living their lives and things in their customary ways.

The brave , set afire that which  is old, even with the cost of great internal suffering, abandoning everything including God and continue onward.

From heaven God smiles contentedly, because he sees his children living on their own, not constantly needing his help. So just say thank you !

Thank you for the pain you re giving me , because the lesson from it its so much greater.

Paulo Coelho said :

There is no tragedy, only the unavoidable.Everything has his reason of being, you just have to distinguish what is temporary and what is everlasting.
-What is temporary?
-The unavoidable..
-What is everlasting?
-The lesson of the unavoidable.

Inspiring story

Meet 98 year old Dobri Dobrev, a man who lost his hearing in the second world war. Every day he walks 10 kilometers from his village in his homemade clothes and leather shoes to the city of Sofia, where he spends the day begging for money.

Though a well known fixture around several of the city’s churches, known for his prostrations of thanks to all donors, it was only recently discovered that he has donated every penny he has collected — over 40,000 euros — towards the restoration of decaying Bulgarian monasteries and the utility bills of orphanages, living instead off his monthly state pension of 80 euros.

Stifness wisdome marriage :)

I was wondering if i where to chose 1 thing from this world and if i ll ever become shipwrecked at sea what would i chose to take with me…

The first thing that came in my mind was my mat.

I could spend between 300-700 years of yogi life always improving my practice..:) and living in meditation until someone will find me and i will share all the wisdom I’ve acquired 🙂

She is always there when i need her, makes no comments, no judgements.
Loves me unconditionally, respecting my space
Nourishing my body mind and soul
We share such great feelings every day..:)
…….

I, M. Samy , take you, my yoga-mat “The tree of life” , to be my lawfully wedded wife, to have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness and in health, until death do us part.

Problems – stress – worries how they affect us

A psychologist walked around a room while teaching stress management to an audience. As she raised a glass of water, everyone expected they’d be asked the “half empty or half full” question. Instead, with a smile on her face, she inquired: “How heavy is this glass of water?”

Answers called out ranged from 8 oz. to 20 oz.

She replied, “The absolute weight doesn’t matter. It depends on how long I hold it. If I hold it for a minute, it’s not a problem. If I hold it for an hour, I’ll have an ache in my arm. If I hold it for a day, my arm will feel numb and paralyzed. In each case, the weight of the glass doesn’t change, but the longer I hold it, the heavier it becomes.”

She continued, “The stresses and worries in life are like that glass of water. Think about them for a while and nothing happens. Think about them a bit longer and they begin to hurt. And if you think about them all day long, you will feel paralyzed – incapable of doing anything.”

Remember to put the glass down.

“Woman with Flower” by Naomi Long Madgett

I wouldn’t coax the plant if I were you.
Such watchful nurturing may do it harm.

Let the soil rest from so much digging
And wait until it’s dry before you water it.

The leaf’s inclined to find its own direction;
Give it a chance to seek the sunlight for itself.

Much growth is stunted by too careful prodding,
Too eager tenderness.

The things we love we have to learn to leave alone.

Ego-Lao Tzu-Wayne Dyre Change your thoughts – richness – accumulation

The mantra of the Ego is ” MORE…More more more ”

We get bombarded of this idea on having more and having that, and if you don t have it you fell you re incomplete.

When:
You came from nowhere-having nothing, and you re going nowhere-having nothing.

A great teacher said : “The only thing you will carry with you from this life to another is your level of understanding”

Lao Tzu said “When your cup is full, stop pouring”

“If you realize that you have enough you are truly rich”

Just say “Thank you” even if it s the only thing you ll say.
