More Efficient Practice – How?

Why is everyone visiting us or not? Is it because we are living in a specific area (like center) and we are always on their path? or because we are far and they retreat to our home? Is it because we have a beautiful house? because we server good food? or that we have good talks? or that we are good listeners?

The energy itself can travel to or can stay with us or because of something we do it avoids us or even if it can’t avoid doesn’t really enjoy our presence and leaves quickly?

What I’m about to share are not strict rules, or conditions that everyone should be stubborn to follow, attack anyone else who is not following them or make them feel bad that they can’t follow, these are just good inviting principles if you want the things to go more efficient. Maybe one of them, which I’ll present or not, is that powerful in you that whatever is the status of the other things won’t really change much on the great privilege the Energy chooses or not your company.

They might be more in quantity or more important but here i’ll share what comes now through me.

I suggest you read them all before taking sudden actions, also the order doesn’t rank them:

  • to start, ahimsa – non-violence (then will invite  you to read the others from Yama & Niyama, even some of the below might appeal to them in a dimension)
  • yoga gets accomplished through
    • enthusiasm
    • courage
    • patience
    • right knowledge
    • determination
    • and by abandoning too much public contact – this six factors (HYP L1, v16)
  • if the Nadi or Pranic channels are full of impurities, the Pranavayu can not enter into the middle Nadi i.e. Susumna (and if the Prana does not enter into Susumna) how the state if Unmani (Samadhi) can be attained and the accomplishment of Yoga can be obtained – HYP Lesson 2 verse 4
    • pointing here to nadishodhana
      • but from my side we would include also kriyas & mantra
  • we don’t talk about the practice unnecessarily, especially outside – is like talking about your money, someone might get interested and take them / disturb you
    • silence for 1 hour is often practiced even on the morning yoga classes
    • silence during the 1st morning meal also (which is after the morning practice)
    • it is said that if the practice is kept secret will be full of extraordinary effects, but if revealed becomes ineffective (Hatha Yoga Pradipika Lesson 1 verse 11)
  • try to use the same place / seat
    • if its possible that is only for your or only for sadhana, reduce the traffic on that area, don’t walk with shoes on top
    • don’t stay close to sources of water, fire or wind unless instructed so
      • HYP Lesson 1 verse 12 – talks about the place, 4 cubits distance from all representation of elements (including stone), free from disturbances, …
    • free from insects
    • free from all sources that can lead to anxiety
  • if you have statues (or icons, or a temple) at home (or practice place) don’t show your back or feet to them
  • no-one should step on top of (or better not even touching)
    • your mat (or asan)
    • papers with mantra or sacred drawings
    • body while in meditation / japa (mantra repetition)
  • the sadhana clothes should be:
    • not shared
    • not dirty
    • natural fiber
    • to not ripped and without holes also helps but that is when you work with high volume of energy, where most of sadhana is done on indian lungi even for men
  • don’t start after
    • overeating
    • too much effort
    • to much talking
    • (too much) adherence to the rule
    • (too much) contact with the people
    • fickleness of mind
      • with these sex factors the practice of yoga is obstructed or becomes futile (HYP Lesson 1 verse 15)
  • start freshly showered / clean
    • and avoid showering after for at least 30 mins, recommended would be 2 hours
    • if you interrupt the sadhana for a toilet break, you should wash from elbows to fingers and from knees to toes
    • use natural products / avoid things that would pollute your body, the water or land (environment)
  • avoid borrowing items, especially personal, during the mandala or sadhana period
  • don’t cut hair or nails on Saturday, Tuesday or Friday
    • don’t start any worldly action on Saturday – Saturn is for transcendence
  • food – it is better to know the distribution of you body elements (earth, water, fire, air, space) between you start any discipline in that direction
    • meat – it generally suggested as you grow to engage as little as possible into it, because of its lack in (subtle) energy and abundance in memory (karma). Check your living conditions and your capacity follow that. Some people become more violent feeling restricted and incapable to have a dietary discipline – so there don’t engage brutally into this, if there is space, do it, if not attempt step by step, always adapt – but don’t create excuses to indulge. Cow meat would be the top avoided one – it has a different  – special energy
  • in terms of God, yoga, tantra, sikhism point to one nameless, formless as does the christianity but in terms of manifestation, energy as many as they were able to distinct as many they named – as so in christianity – Father (Creator), Son & Holy Spirit
  • North-East of the house is the seating place of the divine, where many will place statues, icons or create a small temple.
    • “In every home, whether one person lives or ten person live, 36 members of invisible world lives. This include Pitar, i.e. ancestors, Vastu Deity, Gandharva Deity, these deities are of low level. Along with these, Bhoot, Pret, Kinnar and Pissach also live. All the first three good invisible jivas create positive and good atmosphere at home and influences to good deeds. The Bhoot, Pret and Pishachch yonis create atmosphere of quarrel, arguments, high tempers and spoils peace at home […] Proper quidance is required to overcome negative influences at home.” Divine World War III – prophesy by Maharishi Bhairavananda, Rajkumar Chudaman Baswar, page 63. 1st paragraph.
      • what we eat is for all 36 jivas
      • the solution for negative forces of jivas is to burn a sizeable power of oil or ghee lamp for 24 hours
  • Consumption of toxic, drugs or alcohol usually weakens the relationship and control with your spirit (energy) so your practice might be meaningless or dangerous
  • jewelry – each person might have their own permanent or temporary conditions
    • gold, silver, iron, copper will affect your practice – with direct impact over the mind & energy
    • precious gemstones can increase the intake of a specific energy like graha, but that also both types of effects based on properties, type or specifications
  • women – mooncycle – there a long topic here, but one should refer on name calling any energy or divine name (currently i know only one exception)
