I find it is funny when people are trying new healthy habits in their life. And since I am in loved of yoga I will speak mostly of this.
We try once-twice and just because It can be challenging sometimes, it is easier to go back to what you used to know. To our old habits.
It is not easy to create a new routine. It takes effort and discipline. At least in the beginning, but we are improving our own being…
“You have to get discomfortable in order to be comfortable in discomfortable situations”
Didn’t we used to do the same even with the old habits?
First cigarettes was awful you couldn’t breathe, your neck got all irritated, you experienced pain and dizziness, taste was awful, head pain…
But we repeated and repeated that habit until it turned out to be a pleasure…and now we bring so much awareness in our cigarette breaks and we enjoy every single smoke, really take our time with it…..and the thing is we do it so well that even if the body is an amazing machine that regenerates and cure itself….we create cancer, bad circulation, destroy the lungs…that much love and passion and dedication to this vice.
And the same with alcohol, how many morning we swear not to repeat it again, all that pain and frustration the next day…so many regrets…but the body is amazing, give him some water…disconnect your mind from your body… fresh air and rest… and booom 2 days later you re fresh again.
But when it comes to yoga and other healthy habits….after the first try we just know…”This is not for me..”
And it is not…
Because from an early age we learn that we are not sufficient, we are not enough, we are everything that is not good to this world, whatever we feel is wrong, but what we are thought is good…We get masochists, it becomes natural and normal to be harsh and to damage ourselves….
It is more natural for a bad thing to happened than a good thing…it is a surprise when we experience something good….
we learn to separate our own true self from our personality and create whatever society wants us to be an ideal an image of the perfect consumer….breed-learned-worked to death….for the ideals that are chosen for us…materialism…”the only thing that can bring you happiness”
Ignoring your feelings and being a robot is the strong personality. We trade our humanity for the pleasure and appreciation of others.
But it is your fault, you are responsible for your ignorance, you have to be the change, and you know better… your choices are making a difference each day…
And we die without letting us know how amazing and beautiful and unique you truly are…
And I can promise you this, you are amazing …and I feel sorry that nobody had the chance to see how God could create something as unique and beautiful like you :*
“Never give up, always let go”. Thanks for sharing. It reminds me that many good things come with consistent practice and patience. And, reconditioning the mind to expect good things to happen is certainly something we all can benefit from.
